Passenger information

Another part of Keolis' philosophy of thinking like a passenger is the deployment of optimal passenger information. The group actively seeks to promote new forms of keeping passengers and the general public informed at every step of their journey.

Through its two specific solutions which it offers to public transport authorities, Luciol and Timeo, Keolis can give real-time network information and allow people to anticipate their travelling needs.

Keolis' passenger information technology includes:

  • real-time information at bus and tram stops displaying waiting times
  • on-board systems displaying the next stop and nearby places of interest, and, if a railway station is served, the upcoming departures of regional trains
  • on-board automatic announcements
  • web-based passenger information which can be consulted via a desktop widget, WAP or 3G phones,
  • SMS messaging for traffic disruption
  • GPS connections allowing drivers to consult their route and analyse retrospectively problems and sources of delays
  • Alert and alarm systems allowing drivers to report incidents or breakdowns and receive back-up immediately.
  • The possibility of linking up with other information systems such as ticketing or traffic light priority.

According to the public transport authority's needs and wishes (for example in Narbonne, France), Keolis can carry out a passenger information system project from start to finish.
