On 8 August 2021, Keolis Denmark, Keolis’ Danish subsidiary, started the operation and maintenance of two bus networks in the Northern Jutland region in north-western Denmark. The €190 million contract was awarded to Keolis in December 2020 by the Public Transport Authority Nordjyllands Trafikselskab (NT) to operate and maintain 77 buses, 67 of which run on renewable energy, for 10 years. They will serve a population of 500,000 in the city of Aalborg and surrounding towns.
After the Safety Week, which was held from 14 to 18 June 2021, Keolis has honored innovative actions developed in the past months by its subsidiaries to improve the health, safety and security of its passengers and collaborators. Beyond these prices rewarding the teams, this first-of-its-kind in the Group enables the company to highlight and share good practices so they can be used in the networks in the 15 countries where Keolis is present.
This Thursday, June 17, the new board of directors of the UTP unanimously elected Marie-Ange Debon as its President. The Chairwoman and Group Chief Executive Officer of Keolis succeeds Thierry Mallet.
From 14 to 18 June 2021, Keolis subsidiaries around the world are showcasing the Group’s commitment to ensuring the health, safety and security of its staff, passengers and the public.
In spring 2020, Keolis launched an initiative aimed at suppliers with whom the Group has a minimum annual turnover of €100,000, to encourage them to participate in reforestation projects and to take part in the creation of a virtuous circle to promote ecology and the restoration of biodiversity.
The suppliers commit to planting trees in proportion to their turnover through a "carbon contribution" clause included in their contracts with the Group. Since the project was launched, more than 4,300 trees have been planted. This initiative is rooted in Keolis Group’s global commitment to sustainable purchasing which has been in place for a number of years, which involves incorporating specific clauses into the contracts set up by the Purchasing Department encouraging suppliers to respect Keolis' environmental commitments.
