On 24 September 2020, Keolis, in partnership with Urban ICT Arena, Telia, Ericsson Intel and T-engineering, launched a new autonomous self-driving, electric minibus trial in Stockholm, Sweden, using 5G technology to remotely control and supervise the vehicle. This trial aims to explore the safe introduction of self-driving autonomous electric vehicles in complex urban areas with a view to optimising route planning and traffic.

On 3 July 2020, the Swedish public transport authority (PTA) Storstockholms Lokaltrafik (SL) awarded Keolis a four-year extension worth 500 million euros to operate and maintain a fossil-free bus fleet in Stockholm, Sweden.

Keolis has been awarded a new contract by Movia to operate and maintain 47 buses, of which 32 are fully electric, in the greater Copenhagen area With this contract, Keolis becomes one of the largest zero-emission operators in Denmark The contract reinforces Keolis’ presence in Denmark, where it operates in nine cities, and further illustrates Keolis’ commitment to supporting public transport authorities (PTAs) in the transition to greener energies

On 30 March 2020, the Department for Transport (DfT) awarded Govia, the joint venture (JV) between Keolis and Go-Ahead Group, an extension to its current contract to operate the Southeastern railway network, in the London area, up to 31st March 2022. The UK’s first high speed rail network, Southeastern is also one of the busiest rail networks in the UK, carrying over 180 million passengers per year. This extended contract will enable Keolis and its partner to boost capacity and punctuality of the network and, in the short term, to focus on providing services for key workers during the Covid-19.
