12 December 2019 - Keolis has purchased 259 fully electric buses made by the manufacturer BYD for the Netherlands and 88 fully electric buses from the manufacturer Yugong Eurobus Skandinavia for the city of Bergen in Norway. The purchases come in the wake of two new contracts for Keolis: one from the provinces of Overijssel, Flevoland and Gelderland in the Netherlands to operate and maintain 300 e-buses for a period of ten years; and a second from Skyss, Bergen’s public transport authority, to operate and maintain 136 mainly electric buses for a period of nine and a half years.
Organised by the Futura Mobility think-tank, “10 challenges for 10 years” took place in November 2019 in Paris. Six Keolis colleagues from various French subsidiaries joined multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative solutions addressing climate change.
Under the 20-year contract awarded by Qatar Rail to RKH Qitarat, the joint venture made up of Keolis, RATP Dev and Hamad Group started operating the Gold Line on Doha’s driverless metro on 22 November. This 14-km long line has 11 stations and passengers can change to the Red Line at Musheireb.
On 20 November 2019, at the Salon des Maires exhibition, Enedis and Keolis sign a partnership intended to share their respective expertise to support public transport authorities wishing to convert their bus fleets to electric buses. The partnership will make it possible to innovate and optimise electric bus charging systems and facilitate their integration into the public electricity distribution network, managed by Enedis.
In September 2019, we related how Keolis' Innovation and Data Club Workshop brought together colleagues from more than 20 subsidiaries to discuss the challenges of tomorrow's mobility. Take a look back at the workshop with the video available on Keosphere.
