Keolis has been awarded a new contract to operate a commuter bus service between Gothenburg and Boras, covering 65km. The fossil-free, biodiesel double-deck buses will provide a service to 1.3 million passengers every year. With this new contract, the Group reinforces its presence in Sweden, where it operates 1,700 fossil-free buses throughout the country

Under the 20-year contract awarded by Qatar Rail to RKH Qitarat, the joint venture made up of Keolis, RATP Dev and Hamad Group started operating the Gold Line on Doha’s driverless metro on 22 November. This 14-km long line has 11 stations and passengers can change to the Red Line at Musheireb.

MBTA, the public agency responsible for operating most public transportation services in Greater Boston, Massachusetts, has awarded Keolis, its commuter rail operating partner, a $30 million contract to carry out Phases 2 and 3 of the project to install double track on the Franklin line, following the completion of Phase 1 in December.

Keolis’ Australian subsidiary, Keolis Downer, has started operating a new real-time on-demand transport service in Newcastle, as part of its Smart City Program. This new service builds on the success of existing on-demand services in Lake Macquarie, Newcastle, where ridership continues to grow by over 5% each month. It provides the local community and visitors a better access to public transport and aims to shift from private cars to public transport
