EFFIA to manage three new park and ride facilities in Greater Paris
EFFIA, the leader in providing parking to train stations and the manager of six large Parisian car parks at train stations, has been awarded the contract to manage three new park and ride facilities in Greater Paris.
SNCF has chosen EFFIA to operate two new park and ride facilities in Val d’Oise, at the Saint-Gratien (315 spots over six half-levels) and Persan-Beaumont (487 spots over four levels) train stations. The contracts will start on 1 January 2018 for a period of 15 years and include managing renovations to the two sites. EFFIA will also manage the modernisation of parking spaces with new signage at Saint-Gratien, as well as the modernisation of the Persan-Beaumont site in an effort to earn its ‘Park and Ride’ certification from the Greater Paris transport authority, Île-de-France Mobilités (formerly known as ‘STIF’). To facilitate the mobility of passengers who use bikes to get to the station, a zone dedicated to cyclists will be also be created at Persan-Beaumont, to hold up to 40 bikes. The management of these two sites will generate an annual revenue of 320,000 euros.
After a six month project led by EFFIA’s technical department, the subsidiary began operating on 2 November 2017 a new raised park and ride facility, with 630 places over two levels at a train station in Moret-Veneux-les-Sablons. EFFIA will manage the site for the next 30 years. By allowing drivers to leave their cars close to the station or a transport hub, the park and ride facilities serve as a major incentive for people who would otherwise drive into employment zones in Greater Paris.
EFFIA encourages car-sharing in Greater Paris train stations
To encourage the development of shared mobility in Greater Paris and provide more synergy between various modes of transport, EFFIA has partnered with Transilien and iDVROOM, a player in the daily car-sharing market. Until 30 April 2018, users who carpool to a station can benefit from a 20% discount on monthly parking in 16 Greater Paris park and ride facilities operated by EFFIA. This trial will last three months and will potentially be extended to other EFFIA park and ride facilities.
