Keolis subsidiary EFFIA enters the international market with the acquisition of Alfa Park in Belgium

05-11-2017. EFFIA, a subsidiary of the Keolis Group and second largest car park operator in France, has announced its acquisition of Alfa Park. Alfa Park operates 8,000 parking spaces across Belgium and provides the foundation for the Group’s development in the Benelux region. This acquisition marks the first step in EFFIA’s plans to expand internationally.

Keolis’ subsidiary EFFIA is the second largest car park operator in France and has entered the international market for the first time with the acquisition of Belgian operator, Alfa Park, previously owned by the Belgian Van Laere Group.

Alfa Park operates 15 car parks and sites with on-street parking across Flanders, Wallonia and the Brussels region, equivalent to 8,000 car park spaces. This acquisition marks EFFIA’s entry into the Benelux market.

Alfa Park, as a part of the Keolis Group, will be able to draw on Keolis Belgium’s multimodal expertise and better respond to calls for tender from both public and private bodies.
The acquisition comes on the heels of another business development in 2016, which saw EFFIA increase the number of parking spaces it manages from 30,000 to 175,000 across 170 French towns and cities. These included city, train and hospital car parks, as well as on-street parking sites.

From its solid and ever growing base in France, EFFIA will pursue international expansion activities to strengthen its position as a major player in the car park market.
