One year after taking over operations and maintenance of the Welsh rail network on behalf of Transport for Wales (TfW), TfW Rail Services (operated by KeolisAmey Wales) recently shortlisted the start-ups that will join the Lab by Transport for Wales in January 2020. 12 December 2019 - Keolis has purchased 259 fully electric buses made by the manufacturer BYD for the Netherlands and 88 fully electric buses from the manufacturer Yugong Eurobus Skandinavia for the city of Bergen in Norway. The purchases come in the wake of two new contracts for Keolis: one from the provinces of Overijssel, Flevoland and Gelderland in the Netherlands to operate and maintain 300 e-buses for a period of ten years; and a second from Skyss, Bergen’s public transport authority, to operate and maintain 136 mainly electric buses for a period of nine and a half years.
Keolis, a global mobility integrator, consolidates its ambitions in parking, a lever for developing the mobility chain, with the acquisition of Mypark, a historic actor in parking in Belgium. With this operation, EFFIA reaches a major milestone in its international development strategy, becoming the 4th largest operator on the parking market in Belgium with more than 32,000 parking spaces managed. Julien Verdin is appointed Managing Director of Mypark.
Keolis has been awarded a new contract to operate a commuter bus service between Gothenburg and Borås, covering 65km. The fossil-free, biodiesel double-deck buses will provide a service to 1.3 million passengers every year. With this new contract, the Group reinforces its presence in Sweden, where it operates 1,700 fossil-free buses throughout the country
MBTA, the public agency responsible for operating most public transportation services in Greater Boston, Massachusetts, has awarded Keolis, its commuter rail operating partner, a $30 million contract to carry out Phases 2 and 3 of the project to install double track on the Franklin line, following the completion of Phase 1 in December.
