• The Société Publique Locale des Transports de l'Agglomération Paloise (SPL STAP), operator of the Idelis network in Pau, has renewed the Keolis technical assistance contract for a period of five years from 1 July 2024.

  • The Société Anonyme d'Economie Mixte SETRAM (SAEM SETRAM) in Le Mans has also renewed its confidence in Keolis to provide technical assistance for the future contract to operate the urban transport network, which will be awarded by Le Mans Métropole from 1 January 2026.

Keolis: a long-standing partner of public transport in Pau

In Pau, Keolis will continue to support SPL STAP in its ambitions and its thinking on the development of the Idelis network. The Group will be offering general technical assistance, as well as specific studies focusing in particular on:

  • Optimising network production (work planning, regulation, scheduling, packaging);

  • The energy transition, by analysing solutions for "greening" the bus fleet;

  • Restructuring of the bus network (analysis of the current network, changes to routes and frequencies, support in consultation with passengers and local residents).

At the end of 2019, Keolis had already contributed, as part of its technical assistance, to the commissioning of a hydrogen-powered Bus Rapid Transit (BRT). This world first, for an 18-metre vehicle, confirmed Keolis' position as an operator of sustainable and innovative mobility.

Supporting a major network development project in Le Mans

In addition to its general technical assistance role, Keolis will be supporting SETRAM in its major projects:

  • The renewal of the Système d'Aide à l'Exploitation et à l'Information des Voyageur (SAEIV) and the ticketing system;

  • Converting 3 bus lines into BRT;

  • The extension of tramway trains from 33 metres to 44 metres;

  • Upgrading the bus fleet to a biogas/electricity/hydrogen energy mix.
