A bus network linked to the AArhus light rail nework
On 13 February 2021, Keolis’ Danish subsidiary, Keolis Danmark, was awarded a four-year contract extension by Midttrafik worth approximately €13 million to continue operating and maintaining the Hinnerup bus network in East Jutland, a small town in the municipality of Favrskov. The initial contract, which started in June 2013, is now extended until June 2025.
Keolis operates 14 biodiesel buses, each one capable of carrying 80 passengers. 13 buses serve the town of Hinnerup (8,000 inhabitants) and one is used as a commuter bus to Aarhus, Denmark's second largest city, 10km from Hinnerup. This commuter bus interconnects with the 110 km-long Aarhus light rail network, which Keolis has been operating since December 2017.
A team of 70 Keolis employees, including drivers, mechanics and local management, are dedicated to this network.
