16 October 2018 – on 15 October, Transport for Wales has successfully taken over the operation of Wales and Borders. Branded as Transport for Wales Rail Services, the 15 year contract will be delivered by KeolisAmey.
10-10-2018 On 4 October Keolis announced a second trial of its fully electric autonomous shuttle in Belgium, this time in Braine-l'Alleud (Waterloo), near Brussels. This follows the successful launch in Belgium of the first autonomous shuttle in early September. Keolis conducted this new trial in partnership with NAVYA, a French company which specialises in the design and construction of autonomous and electric vehicles, the Belgian ministry of mobility, the Vias institute (the Belgium Road Safety Institute) and Baloise Insurance.
On 23 August 2018, Keolis’ Belgian subsidiary has signed a partnership with Open Tours Group (OTG) for the 100% acquisition of four of its companies, which specialise in airport transport for passengers and crew members . With this new acquisition, Keolis Belgium enlarges its public transport activities, which also include school and tourism transport.
The activities related to the new acquisition currently have a turnover of 17 million euros, with 380 employees and 180 vehicles.
4 September 2018 – Keolis announced today the launch of a 100% electric autonomous shuttle trial in Han-sur-Lesse, in the south of Belgium. The NAVYA autonomous electric shuttle will operate in normal traffic conditions on a 500 metre route in the Cave Domaine of Han-sur-Lesse, a major Belgian tourist attraction (350,000 visitors per year). The trial will soon be extended to cover a 1.5 km route.
