On the 10th of December, our achievements in Lyon, Bordeaux and Strasbourg were distinguished with four trophies at the 28th edition of the awards ceremony organised by the French magazine Ville, Rail & Transports.
12 December 2019 - Keolis has purchased 259 fully electric buses made by the manufacturer BYD for the Netherlands and 88 fully electric buses from the manufacturer Yugong Eurobus Skandinavia for the city of Bergen in Norway. The purchases come in the wake of two new contracts for Keolis: one from the provinces of Overijssel, Flevoland and Gelderland in the Netherlands to operate and maintain 300 e-buses for a period of ten years; and a second from Skyss, Bergen’s public transport authority, to operate and maintain 136 mainly electric buses for a period of nine and a half years.
Following the recent launches of fully electric bus rapid transit (BRT) services in several cities in France, Keolis has contributed to the launch of Pau’s hydrogen BRT service, a global first for an 18 metre long vehicle. This new service is part of the city public transport network and part of its global overhaul. Inaugurated by François Bayrou, Mayor and President of the Pau Béarn Pyrénées intercommunal area1, it was opened to the public on 17 December 2019. This innovative, sustainable mode of transport serves 14 stations along a six kilometre long dedicated BRT lane with priority at crossroads. This major milestone concludes a key year for electro-mobility for Keolis, confirming its position as a leading operator in terms of alternative energies to diesel.
Keolis, a global mobility integrator, consolidates its ambitions in parking, a lever for developing the mobility chain, with the acquisition of Mypark, a historic actor in parking in Belgium. With this operation, EFFIA reaches a major milestone in its international development strategy, becoming the 4th largest operator on the parking market in Belgium with more than 32,000 parking spaces managed. Julien Verdin is appointed Managing Director of Mypark.
Organised by the Futura Mobility think-tank, “10 challenges for 10 years” took place in November 2019 in Paris. Six Keolis colleagues from various French subsidiaries joined multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative solutions addressing climate change.
