Keolis, a global mobility integrator, consolidates its ambitions in parking, a lever for developing the mobility chain, with the acquisition of Mypark, a historic actor in parking in Belgium. With this operation, EFFIA reaches a major milestone in its international development strategy, becoming the 4th largest operator on the parking market in Belgium with more than 32,000 parking spaces managed. Julien Verdin is appointed Managing Director of Mypark.
Keolis has been awarded a new contract to operate a commuter bus service between Gothenburg and Borås, covering 65km. The fossil-free, biodiesel double-deck buses will provide a service to 1.3 million passengers every year. With this new contract, the Group reinforces its presence in Sweden, where it operates 1,700 fossil-free buses throughout the country
On 24 September 2019, the Provinces of Overijssel, Flevoland and Gelderland in the Netherlands entrusted Keolis with the operation and maintenance of 300 electric buses. This will be Keolis’ largest e-bus fleet operated under a single contract. The new electric buses will serve 53 stations in the east and central areas of the Netherlands and will carry 17 million passengers per year in a clean, quiet and reliable mode of transport. This new contract is another milestone for the Group in developing and deploying electromobility solutions around the world, and it reaffirms its commitment to supporting public transport authorities (PTAs) in the transition to greener energies.
The 9½ year bus contract will see Keolis operating a fleet that runs on 100% renewable energy, consisting of 136 mainly electric buses. Synergies between the new bus operation and Keolis’ light rail network will offer passengers a more integrated mobility offer. Keolis’ track record in operating worldwide bus networks and light rail guarantees a solid expertise base for Bergen’s public transport users.
On June 10-12, at the UITP World Congress 2019, Keolis demonstrated how 5G technology can be harnessed to control autonomous vehicles remotely. The 5G technology provided by Ericsson offers increased efficiency, reliability and safety in autonomous vehicles operation. This is another milestone illustrating Keolis’ expertise in autonomous vehicle operations
