On 15 June Keolis received a four-year extension to operate commuter rail in the Boston region. With the base operating contract due to expire in June 2022, the extended contract will run until June 2026. On 5 June Keolis was awarded a five-year extension to its current contract to operate the commuter rail in Central and Northern Virginia and the Washington, D.C. area. Due to expire in July 2020, the extended contract will run until July 2025. These contract extensions reflect the confidence of transport authorities in Keolis as a partner and open the way for delivering even greater benefits to rail users in North America.

The City of Paris has awarded the Keolis / Autocars Dominique / BE Green consortium the contract to operate the 100% electric bus route serving the 15th arrondissement of Paris.
The 59-month contract will begin on 1 February 2020 and end on 31 December 2024, the date on which all bus routes in Paris and its inner ring of suburbs will be opened up to competition.
Offering new solutions to Paris residents, particularly in terms of passenger information, constitutes another step on the way to Keolis becoming a key mobility actor in and around Paris as the sector opens to competition.
Following the recent launches of fully electric bus rapid transit (BRT) services in several cities in France, Keolis has contributed to the launch of Pau’s hydrogen BRT service, a global first for an 18 metre long vehicle. This new service is part of the city public transport network and part of its global overhaul. Inaugurated by François Bayrou, Mayor and President of the Pau Béarn Pyrénées intercommunal area1, it was opened to the public on 17 December 2019. This innovative, sustainable mode of transport serves 14 stations along a six kilometre long dedicated BRT lane with priority at crossroads. This major milestone concludes a key year for electro-mobility for Keolis, confirming its position as a leading operator in terms of alternative energies to diesel.

On 11 December 2019, Keolis, Châteauroux Metropole and the French Shooting Federation concluded a partnership agreement to authorise the autonomous vehicle tests carried out by the Group at the National Centre for Shooting Sports (CNTS), located near Châteauroux, in the centre of France. This partnership will enable Keolis to pursue its development in autonomous vehicle fleet management, by conducting operational tests aimed at improving vehicle operation and the vehicles’ capacity to adapt to different traffic environments in order to guarantee optimal safety and quality of service for passengers.
