Jacques Damas


Born in 1957, Jacques Damas is a graduate of the Ecole de Centrale Paris. He joined the SNCF Group in 1982, where he started as station manager in Melun and then held several operational positions in railway operations and maintenance. He became Head of the Training Department in the Traction division between 1989 and 1992. He was then successively Operation Director in the Rhône-Alpes region (1992 - 1996), Deputy Director of the Office of the Chairman of SNCF (1996 - 1998), and General Manager of CNC - Freight intermodal- (1998 - 2000).

In 2000, he was appointed Chief Operating Officer of Eurostar in London. He returned to the Etablissement Public (EPIC) SNCF in 2005, as Director of the Operations and Driving division. He was appointed to the SNCF Executive Board in 2006, named Executive Director Safety and Quality of railways services in 2009, before becoming Deputy Managing Director of EPIC SNCF in 2012.

Jacques Damas joined the Keolis Group in January 2014 in charge of the Group’s policies for Safety, Operations and Maintenance, Security, and therefore using his experience to enhance the performance and development of the Keolis Group. Following the re-organisation of the Group’s Executive Committee in April 2018, he was appointed Executive Director Safety, Security and Environment. He is also responsible for preparing the Group for the opening of the French rail market to competition, and for providing specific supervision and support to critical businesses for Keolis’ development.
