BUS AND COACHES : EXCELLENCE IN LOCAL TRANSPORT SERVICES by Keolis
Keolis strives to meet the diverse needs of regions and their inhabitants via urban transport in towns and cities (buses, city-centre shuttles, “BRT system” or Bus Rapid Transit system...), , as well as regional transport (express coach services), and airport shuttle buses. The Group’s proven experience in France is now being deployed in the United States, Australia, and Canada, as well as across northern Europe.
Supporting public transport authorities in their commitment to sustainable mobility is a key part of Keolis’ corporate social responsibility policy. The Group favours environmentally-friendly energy when renewing a fleet or launching a network. 94% of Keolis’ bus and coach fleet in Sweden is powered by alternatives to diesel, including biodiesel, biogas, ethanol, hybrid, and electricity.

KEOLIS SUPPORTS THE ENERGY TRANSITION OF COMMUNITIES
Faced with climate change, a growing number of cities share a common vision: that of more environmentally friendly mobility. To help them achieve this, while helping them to prepare for future regulations, Keolis provides transport authorities with its expertise in ‘clean’ vehicles and vehicles that run on alternatives to diesel (e.g. biogas, biodiesel, hybrid vehicles, electric buses).
In Los Angeles County, Foothill Transit chose the Group to operate its network of 147 buses, of which 14 are electric, and provide support for its draft plan for 100% electric mobility by 2030. This symbolic contract reflects Keolis' role as an advisor, helping communities to narrow down their choices according to the specificities of their region (topography, climatic conditions, etc.) and financing capacity.
One of the missions accomplished in 2017 was the launch of electric bus trials in cities such as Orléans, Rennes and Lyon. But also in Île-de-France, with Aptis. Aptis, the result of a partnership between Alstom and NTL, is a new 100% electric mobility solution incorporating all the advantages of the tram in a bus. Meanwhile, the agglomerations of Bayonne-Biarritz and Amiens are getting ready, with Keolis, to deploy the first 100% electric bus rapid transit (BRT) service to start running in France. In Sweden, the Group’s teams are supporting the cities of Gothenburg and Karlstad on similar projects.
