Keolis launched on June 21st the ION Light Rail Transit (LRT) – the Waterloo Region’s new rapid transit system in Ontario, Canada – at Kitchener's Fairway Station. The system will serve the residents and visitors of Kitchener, Waterloo and Cambridge, as well as surrounding rural municipalities. As part of the GrandLinq Consortium , Keolis Grand River – Keolis’ local subsidiary – is responsible for the 16 kilometers of light rail line operations for the next 10 years, and maintenance for the next 30 years. The contract, which was awarded in May 2014, is under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP). This is Keolis’ first light rail operation in North America.
10-17-2018 Keolis has been awarded a €17.3 million-a-year contract to operate and manage the Greensboro Transit Authority’s (GTA) fixed-route bus and paratransit services starting in January 2019. The fixed route service comprises 16 routes and five Higher Education Area Transit (HEAT) routes, delivering approximately 4 million passenger trips annually. GTA’s paratransit services provide an additional 250,000 journeys per year.

On 10 August 2018, Keolis, a pioneer in autonomous shared mobility, in collaboration with its partner NAVYA, announced the launch of a long-term demonstration project for an autonomous electric shuttle in Candiac, Quebec.
For the first time in Canada, an 100% autonomous electric shuttle will circulate on a public road in real operating conditions, thus extending the existing public transport offer to fully meet the mobility needs of Candiac’s residents.

At CES 2018 in Las Vegas, Keolis and Navya presented Autonom Cab, the first electric robo-taxi. This driverless vehicle uses a range of navigation and communication technology, and will be operated by Keolis to offer a new urban mobility experience to the passengers of tomorrow.
