On 15 October 2020, Keolis’ Chinese joint venture (JV), Shanghai Keolis was awarded a new five-year contract by the public transport authority of Jiaxing, forming a new joint venture called Shenjia with the authority to operate and maintain the city’s new tram network. Jiaxing is one of the most densely populated city in China’s eastern coastal province of Zhejiang.

On 1 October 2020, Keolis Transit America (KTA), Keolis North America’s subsidiary, started operating the Victor Valley network in San Bernardino County, Southern California, for which the contract was awarded by Victor Valley Transit Authority (VVTA) on 13 September 2020.

Keolis has been awarded a new contract to operate and maintain a bus network in Virginia from 1 November 2020 for a period of five years.

On 15 June Keolis received a four-year extension to operate commuter rail in the Boston region. With the base operating contract due to expire in June 2022, the extended contract will run until June 2026. On 5 June Keolis was awarded a five-year extension to its current contract to operate the commuter rail in Central and Northern Virginia and the Washington, D.C. area. Due to expire in July 2020, the extended contract will run until July 2025. These contract extensions reflect the confidence of transport authorities in Keolis as a partner and open the way for delivering even greater benefits to rail users in North America.

On 7 February 2020, Keolis inaugurated the final 11 km long section of the automated metro network of Hyderabad on the new green line. India’s second-largest metro network, is now 69 km long and features three lines, launched in just over two years. The new line features seven new stations and connects central eastern Hyderabad to the two existing red and blue lines. This new milestone enhances Keolis’ position as a world leader in automated metro launch, operation and maintenance.
