REINVENTING TRANSPORT TO TAKE ALL SITUATIONS OF REDUCED MOBILITY INTO ACCOUNT
When organising transport authority chooses Keolis to operate its public transport network, it hands over much more than the management of vehicles and infrastructure. It entrusts Keolis with a mission of public service.
A role that Keolis interprets as serving all population groups and ensuring equal access in all transport modes, through its networks. This ambition, which forms part of the Group’s commitments in terms of social responsibility, requires reinventing transport to take into account all situations of reduced mobility (physical, intellectual, spatial), permanent or temporary, visible or invisible, situations that everyone might one day face.
To address this challenge, Keolis makes universal accessibility a continual requirement, and second nature for its collaborators.
KEOLIS TRANSPORT NETWORKS, ACCESSIBLE TO ALL
Keolis’ battle to promote a mobility service for all also involves giving people with disabilities a successful passenger experience. First and foremost, via on-demand transport services for people with reduced mobility (PRM). These kinds of services are increasingly being integrated into the public transport network, as demonstrated by the new contracts of Rennes, Caen and Dijon.
- In Rennes, in January 2018, the subsidiary and the Metropole launched an innovative service for people with intellectual or mental disabilities to facilitate their daily journeys on the STAR network.
- In Bordeaux, Keolis offers a support service to help them familiarise themselves with the network and get their bearings.
