On 12 December 2021, Keolis, in close cooperation with Swedish public transport authority Västtrafik, started operating the commuter bus service between the cities of Gothenburg and Borås in the west of Sweden.
In preparation for full autonomy, Keolis, in partnership with Urban ICT Arena, Telia, Ericsson, Intel and T-engineering, demonstrated a 5G remotely controlled autonomous electric minibus at Kista Science Centre in Stockholm, using artificial intelligence to monitor the well-being and behaviour of passengers inside the vehicle.
On 31 October 2021, Keolis Downer, Keolis' Australian subsidiary, began operating and maintaining 406 buses in the Sydney region.
On 29 September 2021, the conurbation authority of Grand Auch Coeur de Gascogne, in the French department of Gers, renewed its contract with Keolis to operate and maintain the whole of its public transport network, Alliance.
This new public service delegation contract begins on 3 January 2022 and is valid for a period of eight years.
Région Sud has awarded Keolis public service delegation contracts to operate and maintain two sections of its regional public transport network covering the Alpes-Maritimes coastline and the Grasse inland area in southeast France. The two sections feature a fleet of 120 buses and coaches and include 17 lines: three high-frequency lines, two airport services, and 12 regular services.
