Keolis strengthens its position in Sweden with new bus contract covering Central Stockholm and Lidingö

Keolis has been awarded a new 10-year contract by Region Stockholm to operate and develop bus services in Central Stockholm and on the island of Lidingö (E46).  The agreement, worth a total of 800 million euros, covers 41 bus routes, along with a major shift towards fleet electrification - further strengthening Keolis’ long-established presence in the Swedish capital. 

The new contract, granted by the public transport administration (PTA) of Region Stockholm, entrusts Keolis with one of the most complex and strategically important areas of the city’s transport network. Services will be delivered with a strong focus on operational excellence, passenger satisfaction, and environmental responsibility. A key element of the new agreement is the significant electrification of the fleet, aligning with Sweden’s ambitious climate goals and reinforcing Keolis’ commitment to sustainable urban mobility. 

The award is currently undergoing legal review and cannot be formally signed until this process is complete. 

Present in Sweden since 2003, Keolis has become a key player in the country’s public transport landscape.
