On 8 November 2025, the councillors on the Greater Nevers Authority (Nevers Agglomération) voted to reappoint Keolis as the operator of its public transport network from 1 January 2026 until 31 December 2031. This new contract, worth nearly €54 million, covers 14 municipalities and provides services to 70,000 residents through around 400 stops.

Keolis will continue to support Nevers Agglomération and assist it in its ambition to offer increasingly efficient, innovative and diverse mobility solutions by introducing new services designed to sustainably improve the passenger experience.

Expanded services for residents

Over the next six years, Keolis will continue to operate urban, suburban, and school bus lines, on-demand transport,  and a long-term electric bike hire service boasting a 50-strong fleet. The aim is to provide seven million journeys by 2031, representing a 24% increase compared with 2024, improving the everyday mobility of the region’s inhabitants. As part of this new contract, Greater Nevers Authority has also entrusted Keolis with the operation of a car-sharing service.

The network will be reinforced by a new trunk line (line T3), which will call at stops in Fourchambault, Marzy, Nevers, the retail estate, and, for the first time, the Nevers Industrial Technicentre, an industrial centre

In total, more than 100 staff, including 89 drivers, will be mobilised to operate and maintain the network.

Digital services enhanced by artificial intelligence

Taneo becomes the first network in France to set up an innovation laboratory, LEDIM, which will use data from all mobility services in the area to feed an artificial intelligence system in partnership with ISAT (Institut Supérieur de l’Automobile et des Transports). This AI will help to predict and optimise service provision  and improve service quality.

Keolis will also deploy new digital tools to simplify access to the network and enhance the passenger experience. The AEP and Flowbird ticketing system, where passengers simply tap on with their credit or debit card, will facilitate ticket purchasing and validation . Mobireport modules will enable fast, targeted communication with customers and more effective identification of network incidents, while Kortex, which cross-references data, will help better manage passenger information. The system will be complemented by the deployment of Padam software for on-demand transport, offering a more flexible service tailored to user needs.

“We welcome Nevers Agglomération’s decision to choose Keolis to continue operating the Taneo network for a further six years. Keolis will continue to support the local authority in its ambition to improve residents’ everyday mobility, by increasing transport service provision and accelerating the deployment of innovative digital solutions. This new contract reflects our shared commitment: to provide ever more efficient, useful, and innovative mobility for passengers and the community.”
