Amid factors such as an ageing population, medical depopulation, the clustering of medical facilities and an increase in the number of short stays in hospital, the needs of the patient transport sector have grown. Keolis capitalises on its expertise in mobility and the attention it pays to each individual as part of a public service, and addresses these health concerns through a structured range of patient transport services. As a leader in the sector, the Group strives to provide a safe, high-quality mobility service for patients, and build solid partnerships with healthcare professionals throughout France.
Keolis Santé, the French leader in patient transport
One ambition: patient transport services for all
Building on its experience in mobility, transport for people with reduced mobility and on-demand transport, Keolis formed a strategic alliance in 2017 with two leading companies in patient transport – the Intégral and Douillard networks, - and with the country’s leading ambulance service network, JUSSIEU secours France. Keolis Santé is today France’s leading integrated patient transport operator through its brand JUSSIEU secours.* Thanks to a homogeneous nationwide patient transport service range, this entity of the Keolis Group enables thousands of fragile, ill or injured people to get to and from a healthcare facility in ambulances, patient transport vehicles or officially approved taxis.
Stepping up to serve patients and healthcare professionals
Since its creation, Keolis Santé has adopted the values of its JUSSIEU secours network: commitment and progress with optimism and caring. The whole network is committed to a process to continually improve its efficiency, for the benefit of patients and healthcare professionals.*The JUSSIEU secours brand is 58% owned by Keolis Santé, with the remaining 42% held by independent members.

Improving the healthcare journey for the benefit of patients
A people-first transport service, accessible to all patients
Keolis Santé pays particular attention to providing a personal, accessible and high-quality service. Its ambition is to provide a safe patient transport service range with top quality service and availability, whether in an emergency or on medical prescription. Through its promise: more care, less wasted time, JUSSIEU secours is committed to offering quality care, while simplifying the process for patients, health establishments and ambulance drivers.
Bringing patients and doctors closer together
With 3,550 JUSSIEU secours medical vehicles throughout the country, Keolis Santé offers a practical solution to the problem of growing medical service scarcity. From Douai to Avignon, via Caen, Le Malzieu-Ville, Libourne, Angoulême, Pau, Montbéliard, Pontarlier and Saverne, JUSSIEU secours offers patients a nationwide, standardised patient transport service.
Seamless patient journeys
To make it easier to book a patient transport ride, Keolis Santé provides partner health establishments and hospitals with a dedicated platform. Keolis Santé also simplifies everyday life for patients before and after their stay in hospital. Users have access to a website where they can carry out all their formalities online through a personal account: booking an ambulance, patient transport vehicle or approved taxi, transferring administrative documents (medical prescription, health insurance), sending invoices, etc. New services will gradually be added, such as real-time vehicle tracking.
Promoting access to health for isolated people
Given the growing scarcity of doctors and the limited mobility of healthcare professionals and patients, Keolis Santé offers an outreach solution through a mobile teleconsultation unit. A real medical practice on wheels, equipped with medical devices incorporating 4G or satellite connectivity, this patient vehicle has been operating in the towns and villages of the Vendée department since May 2020. The doctor consults by videoconference from his or her practice. A nurse-ambulance attendant assists both the patient and the doctor remotely to carry out the clinical examination. In September 2024, the North Franche Comté and Nièvre areas will benefit from two Mobile Teleconsultation Units (UMT). The project was developed in partnership with the local community's healthcare professionals and Burgundy-Franche-Comté regional health authority.
