Keolis renewed on the public transport networks of Beaune and Vesoul

2nd May 2023

The Communauté d'Agglomération Beaune Côte et Sud has renewed its trust in Keolis for the operation and maintenance of the Côte&Bus public transport network. This seven-year contract began on April 1, 2023, and will generate total revenue of approximately €16 million.

Keolis has also been renewed by the Vesoul Urban Community to operate its mobility services for six years. The new contract, which will generate total revenue of €19 million, began on May 1, 2023.

Improving mobility in the region through enhanced offerings

In order to meet the mobility challenges of the Beaune area, Keolis will improve the offer and availability of transport services, in particular through the creation of a new electric line (line A), serving the new Cité des Vins de Bourgogne and Beaune city centre.

In Vesoul, Keolis will also have the task of strengthening the mobility offer thanks, among other things, to an extended transport-on-demand offer available for reservation up to two hours before departure. In this new contract, the Vesoul Urban Community has also entrusted Keolis with the integration of all school services in the area, starting in September 2025, a first in this public service delegation.

Keolis continues its commitment to more sustainable mobility

In terms of energy transition, Keolis will support the Beaune Côte et Sud Agglomeration Community in the implementation of three 100% electric shuttles and the use of biofuel for vehicles. In addition, the installation of photovoltaic shades on the depot will enable the production of 42 MWh each year, which is equivalent to 40,000 kilometers for an electric vehicle.

In Vesoul, Keolis will also meet the ambitions of the Vesoul Urban Community in terms of sustainable mobility. Currently, 11 of the 14 vehicles in the fleet run on HVO (hydrotreated vegetable oil) fuel. Keolis is committed to renewing the fleet so that eventually all buses will run on this fuel.

Digital tools: modern and practical mobility for passengers

Keolis Beaune will modernize its mobility offer by developing digital solutions for distribution and passenger information, in order to offer a connected travel experience. In this sense, a new mobile application will be proposed, allowing the purchase and validation of transport tickets by smartphone and offering information, in real time, on the times of passage of the buses.

This is also the case in Vesoul, where new digital tools will be present within the network. This will result in the launch of a mobile application.
